Grace & Joel | Our Stories
How did you find out about Kate & Kole?
"I began following Kate & Kole about four years ago when I started searching for rings. When I found their page, I instantly fell in love with their designs and processes! Each design was stunning, and I knew I would be wearing one for the rest of my life."
Why did you choose to work with us? Was there anything in particular that drew you and your partner to our brand?
"My partner proposed to me with a Fleur wedding band, allowing us to design an engagement ring for the wedding day. When we started chatting with the team, everything was easy! They had so much variety and were able to customise the design to make it my own. Our first appointment was so enjoyable with trying on different pieces, matching rings with Fleur and sharing my heirloom rings passed on from my Mum and Gran. I had ideas about adding some of their small diamonds into the band and they were nothing short of amazing and supportive with my vision. This experience was so enjoyable, we didn’t need to look anywhere else."
What was your favourite part of your Kate & Kole experience?
"Once we designed our ring, there was constant communication about the process of it being made, and I always felt I was a part of every decision. We had sketches drawn which showed options of our final product. Whilst this was fun, the best part was receiving the ring 12 weeks later! It was everything I dreamed of, and more. It was very hard to keep it in its box in the lead up to our wedding."
Tell us a little bit about your proposal
"Our proposal happened on a trip to Hawaii in 2022! We absolutely love traveling so this was the perfect place to share this moment together. Joel had sneakily planned a sunrise hike. After we made it to the top of Koko Head, we asked for a photo, and he proposed to me then and there. We celebrated with mimosas followed by a special night planned by Joel which included amazing foods, cocktails, and a beachfront apartment on Honolulu beach. Our wedding day was in December 2023 on the hottest day with a max of 38 degrees! We got married at Terara Riverside Gardens along the Shoalhaven River with 110 of our favourite people in a rose garden, followed by lawn games and canapes and a beautiful shared meal in the marquee. There was colourful flowers and candles, disco balls, champagne tower, spritz, photo booth, and an ice cream bike! We did a mix of DIY, and we were so thankful of all the amazing vendors who made our day the best day of our lives."
