Travis & Claire | Our Stories

  1. Our Stories — Travis & Claire

We recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with a favourite K&K couple, Travis & Claire, to hear the details of their beautiful proposal in Maui at sunset and why they chose K&K to craft their forever ring.

    Keep reading for our conversation.

How did you find out about Kate & Kole?

"I had actually saved some pictures on Instagram from Kate & Kole previously, and they came up right away when I looked for Toi et Moi Engagement Rings."

Why did you choose to work with us? Was there anything in particular that drew you and your partner to our brand?

"I had no idea where to begin on designing an engagement ring - and I knew I wanted to design one. It seemed like such a daunting task that I hadn't wanted to do it until I saw the engagement ring builder in the Kate & Kole website listing. It was perfect and I was able to design my first mock up of my ring within 10 minutes."

Which ring did you choose for your forever piece, and why?

"I chose the Toi et Moi style engagement ring. I have always loved this ring style, especially because it incorporates both you and your partner. I went with an Emerald and Pear cut - the Emerald, because my mom has the same cut, and the Pear, because it angles/leans onto the Emerald which I thought was sweet and symbolic."

What was your favourite part of your Kate & Kole experience?

"My favourite part was definitely receiving the sample ring and the design renders. The renders were great because I could do cut outs at home to get an idea of what the size of the ring would be, but the sample ring is so helpful because it's very different 3D. That being said... the customer service was lovely as well, of course."

Tell us a little bit about your proposal.

"My fiancé and I got engaged in Maui, HI. He had planned a beautiful picnic through a company that came with a "mini photoshoot". We did the cliché, "okay just her turn around and look at the sunset", and I knew that when I turned back around he would be on knee, (it was the longest 30 seconds of my life and I was crying for all of it). I had a feeling it was happening before we went to the picnic, but I think that made it all the more special because when we looked at each other during the photoshoot before the proposal, we knew it was coming and it made us so connected."
