Necklace Sizing
Choosing your ideal necklace length is a personal style choice. It’s important to note that the lengths portrayed on our models, although fairly accurate, may vary slightly from person to person.
If you already have a necklace at home, you may wish to use that as your guide to finding the right length.
Some of our styles look amazing layered, so keep in mind your desired look and the versatility of the chain length before you buy.
As a Guide
40 | Short length, sits just above the collarbone |
45 | Our most popular choice, sits at the collarbone |
50 | Longer length, sitting just below the collarbone |
To find the ideal length for your necklace, you can either measure a necklace you already own that rests on your décolletage at your preferred length.
Alternatively, take a piece of string, ribbon, or a soft measuring tape, and gently encircle it around your neck to the desired point where you want the charm or pendant to sit. Then, measure the string or ribbon against a tape measure or ruler to determine your perfect length.
If you're interested in a custom length, we offer both a shortening chain service and a chain lengthening service.

DIY Measuring at Home
Option one: Measure an existing necklace.
Select a necklace you already own whose length you want to replicate. Lay your necklace flat on a ruler or measuring tape (including the clasp), then note down the length in CMs and select the Kate & Kole chain length that is closest to that length.
Option two: Measure around your neck.
If you don’t already own the perfect length chain, then take a piece of string, ribbon, or a soft measuring tape and encircle it around your neck to the desired point where you want the charm or pendant to sit (including the clasp), then measure the string or ribbon against a measuring tape or ruler to determine your perfect length.
